Professor Smith’s Mobile Myths

Professor Smith is a typical English local historian, dedicated to the conservation and promotion of old stories, customs, legends and folklore. To this end, he sets out with his mobile library archive, travelling the country offering tellings or re-enactments of curious local tales associated with the location or date of the performance. This mythological mobile archive is of course not propelled by anything as vulgar as a van however, it is horse-drawn, therefore enabling Kitunda Argyle to maintain their tradition of utilising inappropriately inauthentic animal costumes within performances.

A typical performance sees the Professor and his assistant interact with the public asking them if they would like to see something from the archive. Around ten 5 -10 minute static performances are available to view, each one concerning a particular myth, tale or custom that will be told in a Kitunda Argyle’s fast paced, anarchic and very visual style. Frisky the Horse is often called upon to help, and the audience can too. Particularly attentive and enthusiastic consumers of mythological material and folk-facts are of course rewarded with a splendid Diploma from the Academy of Mobile Myths!
